I’m Seana
I work with people who long to feel more at home with themselves and in their lives. My clients are curious, self-reflective and have experienced things that leave them feeling hurt, fearful and alone. During sessions we may encounter powerful gates of self-discovery like grief, anger, and shame. Together we get to know these parts of you, approach them with kindness, release painful stories and make meaning. Clients leave sessions feeling closer to themselves, able to move through their lives with clarity and presence.
The practices I offer also help me embrace myself and my story. My personal journey has been one of ongoing homecoming. I’m a queer Black mixed-race transracial adoptee of Barbadian and French Canadian ancestry, born and raised in Massachusetts. For most of my life I didn’t know my biological parents, lineage or land. I’m in an ongoing process of re-membering myself. I call many places home and currently live in Barbados. Intuition guides my life and work.
My approach:
Integrative
My approach weaves multiple therapeutic approaches within and beyond traditional psychotherapy. I’m trained in IFS and EMDR, and incorporate mindfulness and somatic practices into sessions. I offer reiki, a form of energy healing, to support regulation and rest. I'm also a student of tarot and astrology, and can include these perspectives in the work.
Relational
My style of relating is warm, curious, compassionate and transparent. I find the most helpful part of therapy comes from the quality of relationship we create together. I value authentic connection that allows us each to share more of who we are, at the speed of trust.
Affirming
I am deeply committed to inclusive practice. I center lived experience, cultural and ancestral wisdom, and the intuition of my clients, as well as my own. I strive to create a soft landing for exploration of identity, belonging, and liberation.
